Do you love to sing? Were you once in your high school or college choir? Or did you take voice lessons and stop because you were too busy? Those scenarios describe most of the people in Greater South Jersey Chorus! We all have made room for music on Monday nights because we simply cannot live without song.
You, too, can make singing a priority and audition for GSJC’s next season. Auditions are being scheduled now.

What does an audition look like?
Though the thought of auditioning often strikes fear into the hearts of musicians, our audition process is both intimate and straightforward. The audition will consist of some exercises to determine your vocal range, pitch recall and sight-reading abilities.

When and where are rehearsals?
Our rehearsals are held weekly on Monday evening from 7:00-9:30p. We rehearse at the Haddonfield Center & School for the Performing Arts, attached to Grace Church located at 19 Kings Highway East, Haddonfield, NJ 08033. The rehearsal venue is conveniently located next to the Haddonfield PATCO Station with direct service to Center City Philadelphia.
What is the attendance policy?
We expect members to attend all rehearsals. We do recognize that members may occasionally miss one or two rehearsals per semester due to illness or scheduling conflicts. Members should work closely with their section leaders concerning their attendance records. Members should also warn section leaders ahead of time of any potential conflicts.
Are there membership fees?
Yes, our yearly dues are $150. If you join in January, halfway through our normal season, the dues are $75. We also have a reduced full-time student rate of $60 per year. Dues help our organization pay for rehearsal space, general operating expenses, insurance, and salaries of artistic staff.
We also assess a small sheet music fee. This fee is usually between $15-$30 and allows choristers to keep purchased music indefinitely.
Do I have to purchase my own concert attire?
Members are required to purchase their own concert attire. We are in the process of updating our concert attire guidelines. While more specific instructions will be provided by mid-semester, we are planning to move toward a ‘concert black’ policy.
How often does the Chorus Perform?
Generally, the chorus performs two concerts per semester. The Holiday Concerts are usually in early December and our Spring concerts are usually in May.
Are there activities outside of singing I can get involved with?
Yes! There are many committees that are vital to the operation of our Chorus. These committees allow our membership to bring their professional skills to the aid of the chorus.
