Mozart bookends himself. The Symphony No. 39 is the sound of a composer entirely at ease — generous, bright, unhurried. The Requiem is the work he did not live to finish. Hearing them side by side is hearing the full range of a single imagination, which is why we have put them on one program.
The Greater South Jersey Chorus joins the Bay Atlantic Symphony Orchestra under Jed Gaylin for both performances, with the chorus prepared by our own artistic director, Christopher Thomas.
