Daniel Jackson is a PhD candidate in Choral Music Education at Temple University, studying under the mentorship of Dr. Rollo Dilworth and Dr. Elizabeth Parker. Prior to pursuing his doctorate, he earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music education from Florida State University, where he studied with Dr. André Thomas and Dr. Judy Bowers.
Along with serving as Associate Conductor of the GSJC, Daniel is the Artistic Director of the Concord Chamber Singers and Associate Music Director/Curriculum Advisor for the Philadelphia Youth Chorale Ensembles. With over 24 years of experience in choral music education, he has held key leadership roles, including Director of Choral Activities at Olympia High School in Orlando, FL, and Stone Bridge High School in Ashburn, VA. Additionally, he chaired the Diversity Coalition for the Virginia chapter of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) and served as Associate Artistic Director of the Orlando Choral Society.
Under his leadership, choirs have received prestigious invitations to perform at multiple State Music Educators’ Conferences, the NAACP National Conference, and Carnegie Hall.
Recently, Mr. Jackson expanded his academic role by teaching conducting, choral methods, and vocal jazz courses at both Temple University and the University of the Arts. Nationally recognized as a clinician, presenter, and adjudicator, he is acclaimed for leading workshops and sessions centered on culturally responsive choral practices, as well as promoting inclusive and meaningful choral experiences in diverse communities.
Daniel gratefully shares this life with his wife, Jennifer, and their two daughters, Savannah and Deanna.
